INTRO to RJ: CIRCLES for COMMUNITY BUILDING and STRENGTHENING

Circles are a traditional spiritual practice with roots in indigenous communities and alternative justice systems. In this experiential training, participants will practice the power of community building in a circle, the importance of setting and maintaining this foundation and learn about the restorative approach–its roots and underlying principles.  Participants will learn the basics of being a circle keeper. We will focus on how we engage ourselves and others in the mind, heart, body and spirit. Participants will also have the space to discuss implementation of restorative practices in their workplace and personal life, practice keeping a circle, and gain feedback from their peers.

Who is this training for?

This training is designed for those who are interested in engaging with the foundational processes of restorative justice. Proactively building connection and community are considered "Tier 1" of restorative practices-- or ones that hold up the rest of the system.
