Mariah Foote-Jackson

Mariah Foote-Jackson is a seasoned Restorative Justice Practitioner with over five years of experience working across a range of settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools, college campuses, organizations, and community initiatives in both the Bay Area and Southeast. She currently serves as Senior Program Manager at BUILD, a nonprofit focused on teaching youth an entrepreneurial mindset, where she collaborates with school staff to plan events that expose students to real-life career opportunities. In addition, Mariah serves as a Facilitator at Circles for Social Change and the Restorative Justice Center at UC Berkeley, advancing restorative justice practices and empowering folks to invest in community building.

Throughout her career, Mariah has created and facilitated many RJ trainings for those working in educational spaces ranging from introductory to Deeper Dive. She has led transformative initiatives such as reimagining Peer Restorative Justice Programs, implementing proactive programmatic RJ request forms, and facilitating over 600 restorative interventions. She has worked in partnership with the District Attorney’s office, managed nonprofit contracts, and designed programs focused on socioemotional learning and conflict resolution.

Mariah holds a Master’s in Nonprofit Leadership and Management and a BSFCS in Human Development and Family Science, both from the University of Georgia. She is deeply committed to addressing racial injustices, particularly the School-to-Prison Pipeline, and advocates for restorative justice as a powerful tool for promoting peace, equity, and justice within educational and community spaces. Outside of the professional space, Mariah loves traveling, snorkeling and volunteering at her church.
